Being able to make a lucid dream happen is often considered to be a feat of great skill and it is something that many people wish they could do. Here are some effective lucid dreaming techniques for beginners and experts alike. As long as you are patient and focused on your goal, you will learn how to lucid dream. The first few awakenings are often the hardest but they will happen.
Dream Recall: Of all of the lucid dreaming techniques you will read about, being able to remember your dreams is absolutely the most important. Keep a dream journal next to your bed so when you wake up you
can write down whatever you remember. If you wake up without memory of your dream, just lay in bed with your mind open, trying to remember what you were dreaming about. You need to make a habit of recording it all into a journal though. This will help you recognize themes in your dreams and get a better understanding of your dream world. As time goes on, you will be able to remember more and more details and you might find yourself able to remember your whole dream.
Pay Attention: Pay attention to the details you are writing down in your dream journal. This, too, will teach your brain that you want your dreams to be important and your brain will start to pay more attention Read the rest of this entry »
An obvious question is, “Can I learn lucid dreaming?”. The answer is quite simple: yes. Lucid dreaming is like any other skill which the dreamer realizes that they are in fact dreaming, and achieves a state of “Conscious Awareness” within the dream. Often this allows the dreamer to then take control of the dream and determine what happens. This ability to have Lucid Dreams allows us to gain knowledge of what we experience when we are asleep.
The main prerequisite to learn lucid dreaming is above average dream recall. Although it may at first not seem like it, developing dream recall is fairly easy. Keeping record of your sleeping visions is a good way to
dream recall and also help you to control them. You can do this by keeping a dream journal by your bedside or even a voice recorder. As soon as you wake up you can record what happened. This will help you figure out how to have lucid dreams in the future. Knowing what happened and how it occurred can help you to encourage it to happen again. This is especially important step for you who’re beginning to learn lucid dreaming. Read the rest of this entry »
Lucid dreaming is being “aware” that you are in a dream, and using that knowledge to control the dream. In a lucid dream, everything is as realistic as waking life - perhaps even more so. With lucid dreaming, you can reclaim the third of your life you spend sleeping - and turn it into a practical self-development workshop!
When you’re lucid dreaming, you can make anything happen. You’re no longer limited. And it’s all so realistic, you’ll be excited about every dream for weeks afterward. Read the rest of this entry »

What Is Lucid Dreaming?
Lucid Dreaming is a term coined by Frederik van Eeden. Very simply put, a dream in which the person is aware that he or she is dreaming while the dream is in progress, also known as a conscious dream. The term ‘lucid’ is thus synonymous with ‘conscious’ or ‘aware’. But the degree of your ‘lucidity’ can vary according to the strength of your conscious focus and its stability, the presence of the critical faculty and memory ability, and finally, your ability to take control of the dream itself.
When the dreamer is lucid, he or she can actively participate in and often manipulate the dream environment without any of the limitations that otherwise would feel natural to persons who incorrectly believe they are in the “real” waking world.
The great thing about Lucid Dreaming is that once you recognize you’re inside a dream, you can change or create whatever you like in the dream. By becoming aware and exercising your will to choose, you get to experience just what you want to experience. It really is your own ‘Personal Virtual Reality’, with a flexibility and realism far exceeding the most advanced computer simulation. So you can do anything in a Lucid Dream! There are no limits or boundaries to your experience as there are in the physical world, nor is there any time delay to what you create - everything appears virtually instantly as you desire it.
Another huge point that needs to be made is that dreams are totally realistic to us when we’re experiencing them. It is only upon later reflection we may call an experience ‘just a dream’. All our senses, emotions, thoughts, feelings in a dream are as though the dream were ‘actually’ happening. It’s not less real, it’s just more dynamic and fluid. And, when we become lucid, we usually find the acuteness and sensational aspects of the experience increase many times over, similar or beyond peak alertness while awake. How to Have a Lucid Dream?
Have you ever wondered what it would be like to fly? Ever wanted to be the President? Maybe you’ve always wondered what it would be like to time travel; perhaps even take a ride on the back of a brontosaurus. Once you learn how to lucid dream all this and more is available to you on command. The only limit to what you
can do is your own imagination.
When you want to learn how to lucid dream, you’ll need to first learn to recall your dreams. Often you might find that you’ll recall a dream from the previous night only when something happens during the day to remind you. As you practice dream recall, you may discover that you regularly dream about penguins. Unless you see penguins frequently in your daily life the sight of a penguin may be enough to trigger a reality check inside a dream and cause you to become lucid.
Reality checks are the second important skill to master. Most people find it helps to regularly ask themselves the question: “am I dreaming at the moment?” Once this becomes a habit during waking hours the act of habitually performing your reality check in a dream should be enough to alert you to the fact that, this time, you are dreaming. Sine wave generators were used to create two separate frequency waves which were introduced to each ear independently. The brain reacted by creating a third tone which was the difference between the two. The brain instantly reacts to these frequencies causing a Shift In Consciousness. Lets say that you start in the Deep Sleep Delta State. Once Delta is reached, your brain frequencies rise to the Theta Frequencies where Dreaming begins. If your brain frequencies continue to rise, you will progress to Alpha. When you reach Alpha, you will be awake, and that’s not where you want to be for Lucid Dreaming.
