The New Year is approaching and when you stop cheering, when the festive season ends, the last fireworks dim out and you sober up from the celebrations, you will be left face-to-face with your New Year’s resolutions. How will you make them work this year? How will you make sure that they won’t fade away this year as they have done each year before? Can you hypnotise yourself into following your perfect solutions?

The truth is that most of us hypnotise ourselves unknowingly into failing instead of succeeding. You need to learn how to hypnotise yourself differently. Hypnotherapy helps to reverse this subconscious pattern; it uses hypnosis as a tool for success, not for failure.

We have all tried the New Year’s resolution. We are all full of great intentions – ready to change our lives for good – and the New Year seems like such a good time to start. We party hard through Christmas; New Year’s Eve is the last day of our old habits – the last time we let ourselves indulge in the old ways – and with the New Year we start a New Life, healthy, wisely, we will exercise, study, we will lose weight, stop smoking or drinking…

Most of our New Year’s resolutions last at least one day, unless they were only the New Year’s wishes. Strong New Year’s resolutions last for over a week and some of them for even longer, but by the end of January most of us forget our life-changing promises. We will do it on our next birthday… or perhaps the holidays will be a better time…

When the New Year’s resolutions are rescheduled we become disappointed with ourselves, even if we try to justify the lapse into our old habits (stress at work, kids have a cold, upset with husband, etc.). And how do we deal with disappointment? We eat, drink or smoke even more, we are even less motivated to go to the gym, we procrastinate more instead of studying…

How can you make it different this year? Is it worth trying if it never works? What is the most essential element of success? How can hypnotherapy help?

The most essential component of any success is a strong belief that you will succeed. This is how hypnotherapy can help. You can hypnotise yourself this year into success, instead of hypnotising yourself into failure.

Hypnotherapy will help you to define the success at first, so your goal will be very clear. Most of us do not even realise what we really want to achieve – it can be so difficult to imagine ourselves really healthy, in a new slim body, energetic, happy, eloquent or educated, etc. In a hypnotic trance, you can visit your future self; you can find and redefine the results of the changes you wish to make.

The next step is to build the goal, to start experiencing it, to make it real. With hypnotherapy you can bring the vision of your shining future to the current moment; you can visit the accomplishments of the milestones in your future life and celebrate them in the hypnotic trance, bringing joy and motivation to the here and now.

Sometimes past trauma or very low confidence and other negative experiences can cloud the mind and the heart, casting shade on the future. It is difficult to build a vision for the future from a black hole of past trauma or overwhelming, negative self talk, even if you’ve had years of counselling and you logically understand why and how the past is affecting you. Hypnotherapy can help you to resolve the past. With the help of a skilled hypnotherapist you can revisit the past in hypnosis and see it in a different light, like a lesson, to change your perceptions and unhelpful beliefs and completely free yourself.

There are no goals that cannot be achieved when you are truly motivated and you strongly believe in the outcome. Hypnotherapy can help you to really own your goals, to make them part of you. As a result you are just on a mission to grow and evolve, and you know that you are succeeding because you have already been there.

The strong vision can help to overcome any obstacles. Hypnotherapy will not only help you to build this vision, it will make it real – so realistic that it will be impossible not to succeed. It is hypnotising yourself into success, focusing on the success, enjoying your New Year’s resolutions without too much pressure and pushing yourself, because this is the real you, just the way you are.

I thought I’d share with you a lovely and rather novel process. It is based upon an NLP (neuro linguistic programming) technique that I have seen used and published by a variety of authors in that field.

There are times when we all tend to fall in and out of love of running. I go through highs and lows and my motivation wains from time to time and getting motoring is a lot easier when I am in love with running.

I tend to fall in love with running just before and after big events, when I have bought running gear, when the latest edition of Runners World falls through the letterbox and when I talk to my brother about our schedules each week. However, there are various other means to have a love for running that don’t require the external stimulus that I mentioned in this paragraph. I wanted to share one such process with you today – all aimed at having you fall in love with running. It’ll certainly help all of us with our training as we start our schedules for the New Year, whether they are for planned races or just weight reduction or enhanced fitness. Let me show you how…

7 Steps To Fall In Love With Running

Step One: Before we start with the self-hypnosis process, create a list of the feelings you’d like to have about and towards running. You can write them down and have a written list (which I advise) or you can create a list in your mind as preparation for this exercise.

Your relationship with running may have wavered in a variety of ways over the years, or even if you are just starting out running, so being aware of how you wish to feel towards running is going help you in the process of actually having that sort of regard towards it. Plus, having a vivid idea of the feelings you want to have beforehand is going to ensure that you enhance the relationship with running and help those feelings be ignited later on in this process.

Once you have a good comprehensive list drawn up, pick the 4 or 5 top things from it in order of preference and jot down an occasion when you felt that way before. Just briefly remind yourself of those occasions and have an idea of them in your mind. With the list of occasions besides your top 4 or 5 ways that you wish to feel towards running (love, affection, inspiration, motivation, excitement, enjoyment, fun, healthiness etc) then proceed on to step two.

Step Two: Induce hypnosis. You can do so by any means you desire or know of. You can use a progressive relaxation technique you know of, or just get into a receptive meditative state. Get focused and get yourself feeling receptive.

Once you have induced hypnosis, move on to step three.

Step Three: With hypnosis induced, now run through your top 4 or 5 feelings in the following way whilst associating them with running:

Remind yourself of one of your listed feelings that you wish to have, then recall the occasion you felt it before; make sure you imagine seeing the sights, hearing the sounds and feeling that feeling as vividly as you possibly can.

Generate some of that feeling and then spend a couple of minutes growing it and magnifying it and enhancing it. You might imagine it as a colour that you spread in your body and mind, it might be a sensation that you develop further, or even a sound that resonates within you. Really develop and build that feeling within you, then move on to the next step when you can feel it vividly.

Step Four: Once you can feel plenty of that feeling, think about going running whilst keeping that feeling. Imagine a future run you are going to go on whilst feeling that sensational state within you and associate that feeling with running. Get the great feeling intertwined unmistakably with the experience of running.

Once you feel that you have merged the feeling with running, then move on to the next step.

Step Five: Repeat steps three and four with the other feelings and occasions you previously listed until you have done this with all the feelings you wish to have towards running.

Make sure you take all the time necessary and do this thoroughly and diligently, you’ll benefit greatly from doing so. Each time you do this, imagine developing a strong bond, a wonderful relationship with running. Remind yourself of how much good it is doing you and how much your love for running is building and get excited about running.

Really develop these states and enjoy feeling them and associating them with running and once you have gone through the list, move on to the next step.

Step Six: Once you have developed these feelings for of the feelings you wish to have towards running, then imagine going out on a run (final time for this exercise) and combining all those wonderful feelings. Imagine them merging and associating wonderfully with your run. See the sights of the places you run in, hear the sounds and really imagine being on your run whilst feeling this way towards your run. As you do that, think the words “I love running” to yourself.

Say the words in a way that is undeniably convincing to you that you love running. Say it with vigour and meaning and in a way that you feel like you truly believe it.

Then you can use those words to stimulate these feelings when you plan to go running and throughout your runs. Heck, at the end of a great run, say the words to yourself to anchor those great post-run feelings to the words so you can use them to get your relationship with running developed and built massively.

Step Seven: Once you have done the previous steps, then wiggle your toes and fingers, take a couple of deep, energizing breaths and open your eyes to bring this part of the session to an end.

Test and practice using the words in your mind and really fall in love with running. You see, when you love it, you’ll be more inclined to do it.

There you have it, lets start the year off truly falling in love with running so that we have a wonderful foundation to build upon and so that we are not in any way finding the running season ahead any kind of a chore.

What is a metaphor? A metaphor is a literary figure of speech. Typically, a client uses a metaphor to describe an associated image, story or tangible event to that particular metaphor.

The metaphor represents an invisible, mental interpretation of a certain event meaningful to the client. When clients associate certain metaphors with mental or emotional unpleasantness, they seek relief from the associated unpleasantness.

A Person Creates A Metaphor Using Different Puzzle Pieces or Parts

A client creates the metaphor from many different parts or details. By changing the details, the client releases oneself from the associated unpleasant feelings. So, learning to change the modalities of a metaphor can quickly help a client find the relief he or she seeks.

Remember that a metaphor is nothing more than a belief or a set of beliefs. Human thought is made up of beliefs. Beliefs are made within the clients’ own mind. So, there is actually no harm to changing beliefs as long as the client’s subconscious mind agrees that no harm comes in the change. It is when the subconscious disagrees about the intention of the change that can keep a client feeling ’stuck’ mentally.

A Metaphor Is Made Up of Two Basic Parts

A metaphor is made up of two basic parts. Energy and ‘data’ or bits of information. Separating the energy, especially the negatively associated memory energy of a metaphor from its parts releases the client from the unpleasant feeling. Metaphors associated with pleasant feelings rarely need to be addressed and dismantled because they are no source for client upset.

However, the metaphors clients associate with something upsetting can be changed to help them experience the change they desire. And, changing those modalities can almost instantly bring client relief.

For example, suppose a client associates a cactus with an abusive parent. You can ask the client if he or she would feel better changing something about the cactus picture. If the client agrees that a change can occur safely to the client, go ahead and guide the client to change the picture and notice gentle release. When you do, the client can experience a profound issue breakthrough.

Be A Guide For The Client As He or She Transforms Ideas

When you act as a coach or guide for your client, transformation feels like the client’s idea. That is the most empowering way to help your client feel better. Instead of trying to boss the client and tell him or her what to believe, simply suggest that the client allow him or herself to feel drawn to that which feels peaceful. Leave the rest of the process up to the client and watch the transformation speedily occur!

Self belief plays an important role in many aspects of life. Especially in becoming successful and reaching your goals. How many super successful people do you know that don’t have self belief? I’m sure the answer is most probably none. No matter what area it is in, whether it be sports, business or any other. In order to become successful and strive to be the best you must have self belief.

Many of us (myself included) have dreams of what we would like to achieve in life. I can’t count the number of times I have thought of a business idea, only to talk myself out of giving it a go. Doubting myself over and over again. Coming up with different reasons why it won’t work and why it will fail.

Most successful people fail many times before they make it big. They try over and over to win a championship, or a gold medal, or even succeed in the business world. If they did not have self belief in themselves then they would have given up after the first try.

All these people have their mind set on what they what to achieve. They know they are going to reach there goals. No matter what it takes or how long it takes. Having this level of belief in themselves is one of the keys in becoming successful in any walk of life.

With the use of Hypnosis we can eliminate the old negative thoughts. The ones where you constantly doubt yourself and hold yourself back. By re-training your subconscious we can learn to switch these off once they enter your mind. Replacing them with a positive belief in yourself. Knowing that you can achieve whatever you set out to do.

Staying positive in life is such an important factor in having self belief. No more being knocked back by bad news or uncomfortable circumstances and events. Hypnosis can train you to instead look to the positive side of situations. Learning from your experiences and keeping faith and trust in your self.

This can truly be a life changing experience. Changing your attitude into a winning one, with a positive frame of mind. Nothing will seem to far out of reach and you can finally work towards the goals you have always dreamed of. Without getting knocked back straight away by various outside factors.

The benefits will last a lifetime.
