Now, we're going to talk about how to do wake up process in hypnosis. This is specially important in this free hypnosis course How to hypnotize.

“How to Hypnotize” Course Author: Steven Hall MCOH MASC NLP

All we have left to discus is the wake up process! So, at the risk of draaaaging this lesson a little, I’m gonna give you the wake up material today so that you don’t have to wait any longer!

Waking people from trance can be as easy as “1, 2, 3. Eyes open. Wide awake!’ BUT… that’s such a waste, so use the wake up script to get in a last few suggestions and make sure they wake up feeling absolutely great… and of course eager to volunteer again… so you get lots of practise!

Remember to remove any suggestion that you have used during the trance that your client doesn’t want to keep, and be sure to bring them fully back to date… at the right age!

After waking your client, spend a good five or ten minutes chatting positively about the experience, as they’ll still be very suggestible for a while.

As you wake your client let go of your relaxing hypnotic voice and really crank it up. Use an enthusiastic positive tone, and bring your client back one stage at a time like this…

‘As I count from 1 to 3 you’ll be fully awake and back in the room here with me, feeling great. 1. Beginning to awaken from this trance state now, aware of your body and fully back in the room listening to the sound of my voice. 2. Your eyes beginning to open and you can stretch if you wish as you come back to waking consciousness, bringing with you everything you have learned. Trance is a wonderful experience and you can discover more and more with each trance, and 3. Eyes fully open now, back in the room and wide awake feeling great! Welcome Back!’

That’s pretty much all there is to it! Now all you need to do is practise, practise, practise!! You’ll be needing lots of volunteers so be nice to your friends and family, and remember you can also practise on yourself too!

Whenever you hypnotise somebody, get feedback afterwards and you’ll be able to quickly fine tune your sessions.

If you want to go on to learn more advanced hypnotic techniques then please feel free to check out my complete hypnosis package. It now includes some great rapid hypnosis videos that you can simply watch and copy! So you’ll be able to hypnotise people in seconds!

Once again, thank you so much for allowing me to share this information with you. I really do hope you take up hypnosis. It started out as a hobby and a bit of fun for me but grew and grew into something I never dreamed it would. Hypnosis changed my life in so many ways… as well as practically everyone I know! I know how much of an impact it can have on your life too, if you let it!

This is your last lesson, but I promise to keep you posted of anything new that I get up to. I’m currently working on something extremely exciting. So I’ll let you know all about that when it’s ready.

Before I leave you to grab your mates and start practising, I just want to assure that I have no intention of pestering you with adverts or any of that rubbish. You’ll get the odd email from me if I have something worth telling you, but aside from that… I’ll respect your inbox! There’s more than enough junk flying around and I certainly don’t intend to add to it!

Again thanks so much for allowing me to share hypnosis with you… I wish everyone did it! It’s an amazing tool and the more people that use hypnosis the better! Take care of you and yours…. and have bags of fun practising!

During hypnosis, laughing happens? Then how? In this free Hypnosis course, how to hypnotize, we tell you just let't go when laughing happens.

“How to Hypnotize” Course Author: Steven Hall MCOH MASC NLP

Well, that’s the most serious situation out of the way… now on to another little problem that you’ll very probably experience… lots!

This is laughing… and expect it, ’cause it’s definitely gonna happen! When you start to practise on your friends they’ll laugh during the induction, some of them do this because the situation is unusual others do it because they really can feel something happening, and it serves as a bit of a safety net.

If someone laughs don’t stop the induction and give up… use the laughter! Laughing leads to relaxation, and it also releases lots and lots of stress… so go with it, laugh with them if you like, as soon as they manage to calm themselves say that if the laugh comes back it’ll make them twice as relaxed and take them twice as deep into trance. Then say something funny! Also make sure you point out how relaxed they feel as the laughter stops, especially around the face, have them notice the muscles in and around their jaw relax and link this with going even deeper!

When you begin practising you’ll hope people don’t laugh… but once you have had a giggler and used it, you’ll be hoping everyone does it! It’s a great aid to trance if you use it properly.

We're going to be looking at a few problems, like abreaction in hypnosis. This is specially important in this free hypnosis course How to hypnotize.

“How to Hypnotize” Course Author: Steven Hall MCOH MASC NLP

Today we’re going to be looking at a few problems you might run into and what to do.

First off, we’re going to deal with abreaction. This is rare, but as it can happen you do need to know about it. It isn’t dangerous, it’s just unpleasant, but it can be an incredibly rewarding experience for the client and often leads to tremendous healing.

One of the best ways to think about abreaction is to imagine that deep in the clients subconscious mind is a pocket of trauma that’s been locked away out of sight for many years. Although this trauma is hidden it affects the client in a very negative way and prevents them from living their full potential.

When you start to probe around in the clients mind you might bump into this trauma and set it free, if this happens, it immediately bubbles up to the surface and the client experiences a rush of emotions. This is very easy to recognise; the client will look stressed they’ll grimace and cry and very often shout out, as though reliving the trauma.

Most therapeutic sessions don’t really probe around enough to cause this kind of reaction, especially if you are using NLP (Neuro-Linguistic Programming) techniques. But some techniques, particularly regression therapy, are much more likely to produce abreaction.

If you’re with a client and this happens you can do a couple of things… Some therapists talk them through the experience very calmly and reassure them that everything is going to be alright. The idea here is to release all that trapped emotion, encourage them to let it go and expect a lot of crying. After this solution the client is usually happy and tired, they’ll also tell you they feel as though a great weight has been lifted from their shoulders.

The alternative to dealing with it is to back away, you leave the trauma where it is and talk the client back into the room telling them that they’re with you and safe and get them to wake up out of trance.

Following Steven Hall With More Advanced “How To Hypnotize” Video Course!

Personally, I would suggest dealing with the trauma and setting it free, if it’s popped up, the chances are it’s the right time for the client to let go of something they have been carrying around for long enough. Most traumas that are revealed in this way began in childhood, at a time that the client felt powerless. Make sure you remind them that they are strong and powerful now as an adult and they’re safe and secure. Tell them that you are with them and encourage them to let the trauma go, rather than try to fight it. You want them to release the emotion, the best way to do this is to acknowledge it, feel it and simply let it go without any fighting.

Don’t presume or suggest any cause for the trauma, doing so can create false memories, just allow them to release it peacefully.

STOP Struggling to Hypnotize People!
In this free hypnosis course How to hypnotize, we're now going to trance itself and its application in stage hypnosis and other hypnosis information.

“How to Hypnotize” Course Author: Steven Hall MCOH MASC NLP

Today we’re going to look at the trance itself… and what to do with it!

Whatever you are using hypnosis for, the lessons up to now will suit any circumstance. If you’re planning on taking hypnosis to the stage you’ll want to learn some more dynamic instant inductions too but these basic inductions are a great place to start.

So, what to do with your hypnotised client…. You basically have three options of where to take trance. You can do some therapy, you could use the trance for entertainment or you can use it to gather information.

We’ll start off with the therapy option.

What I’m giving you here is only a basic starter, if you want to get more involved with hypnotherapy then do go on and continue your studies.

Whatever problem you might be dealing with, make sure your client seeks conventional medical advice before you do anything. Getting rid of a headache is great, but not if your client later dies of a brain tumour!

Basic therapy is very simple, but also very easy to get wrong… and LOTS of hypnotists get it wrong! There are three simple rules to follow…

Rule 1. Make sure your suggestions are positive!

You must be positive, the statement, ‘You will stop smoking’ is negative! Anything with the words ‘no, not, won’t, don’t or stop’ is negative! Turn it around and make it positive. ‘You will stop smoking’ becomes ‘You are a healthy happy and proud non smoker!’ ‘You don’t want to eat chocolate cake it tastes horrible to you’ is negative! Instead say, ‘You love eating fresh healthy food, it tastes great and just thinking about eating it makes you feel great too!’

Rule 2. Keep everything in the present tense!

When you use suggestions make sure they’re in the present tense, even if you’re talking about the future! With smoking this is simple, you just say, ‘You are a healthy happy and proud non smoker!’ When you are dealing with something that takes time, like losing weight you have to bend English a little, so you say, ‘In three months from now, you ARE a perfect size 10, and you feel fantastic about yourself.’

(by the way… size 10 is a UK thing…. I have no idea of the US equivalent!)

Rule 3. Check it!

Most problems have a secondary gain. Such as eating for comfort or moaning about a problem to gain sympathy. One client even psychologically paralysed herself just so she didn’t have to go out! So, make sure you check any changes you make. Have your client imagine life in the future with the change complete. Get them to imagine life in 5, 10, 15 and even 20 years from now. How has the change affected them, their loved ones, work… anything! If you discover any problems, rethink your therapy, or address the problem.

Often you’ll find that you can install a healthier way to satisfy the secondary gain that the problem was feeding.

Now on to stage hypnosis….

This is what most people reading this want to do. Obviously I don’t know what you want to learn hypnosis for… but most people at least want to try hypnotising their mates or work colleagues for a bit of fun, even if they never plan to take it to the stage. And it’s great practise too!

For stage style hypnosis, you can do a few types of routines. In the beginning stick to routines that all the volunteers can do together. And try to focus on ones where they can keep there eyes closed. You can do a mock Kentucky Derby or perhaps get them all to play pretend instruments as you play a piece of music.

These group routines really help to deepen the trance state even further and it gives you plenty of time to pick out the volunteers that’ll be the stars of your show.

Next you’ll do some post hypnotic suggestions. This is where you wake someone up, get them to do something and then put them back into trance. In order for this to work, you first need to tell them that whenever you click your fingers and say the word ‘Sleep’ they’ll instantly go back into a deep state of hypnosis. If you don’t do this, you’ll have to hypnotise them again after every routine!!

I recommend keeping your routines safe, you can have great fun with hypnosis without anyone having to get undressed and you don’t need to stand on a person supported between two chairs either!

A favourite routine is to tell someone that when they put on the glasses you give them they’ll see the entire audience naked. Then wake them from trance. Have a little chat with them and ask if they’re hypnotised now. They’ll say they’re not and you can then ask them to try out some experimental glasses… the reactions are very mixed but always amusing!

Remember to thank your volunteers after a show and make sure you remove all of your suggestions. It’s a good idea to stay in the venue for an hour or so afterwards to answer any questions.

So… now onto to hypnosis for information….

This is the weird, but fascinating area of hypnosis. I’m going to give you a simple script for regression and leave you with a few ideas to get you thinking.

To regress a client, have them imagine they’re in a room filled with many books. On the table in front of them is a new book, tell them to open it and on the first page is a picture of them as they appear today. Get them to turn the page and tell them the following page shows another picture of them, but one year ago, so they are one year younger.

To get to a specific age, find the correct page, or, have them choose any book off the shelf that appeals to them. If you want to step into the experience have them imagine the photograph is growing and becoming three dimensional and have them step inside. It’s a good idea to only step into photographs of pleasant memories to avoid too much emotional discomfort.

At the end of the session, be sure to bring your client back to their current age and date.

You’re not limited to this life, you can regress a client to former lives and even progress them to future ones. You can also use hypnosis to assist with more esoteric activities such as remote viewing, astral projection and channelling. Just use your imagination!

<a title="Following Steven Hall With More Advanced "How To Hypnotize" Video Course!
In this free hypnosis course "How to hypnotize", we're going to part of focusing on deepening the trance. This's the special free hypnosis course for you.

“How to Hypnotize” Course Author: Steven Hall MCOH MASC NLP

Today we’re going to focus on deepening the trance, so that you can do something with it!

Trance deepeners are as many and varied as trance inductions. And you’ll change what you use to suit the circumstances (and the client). Remember this isn’t like casting a spell, you don’t have to say every word in a certain order for it to work, just follow a basic format and you’ll be fine making it up as you go along!

You can make great use of the hypnotic language patterns that you’ve already learnt to assist the deepening script, so it’s always a good idea to work out a few keys phrases before hand.

Having a handful of phrases at the ready is also great if you can’t think of what to say next. It gives you some time to decide what to do or how to proceed with the induction.

A basic trance deepener creates a link between the idea of moving in a downward direction and going deeper into trance. You’ll need to describe a scene for your client to imagine and then talk them through the process whilst using lots of suggestive language to deepen the trance.

Some common examples are walking down stairs, going down in a lift, walking down a path in a forest, traveling down an escalator etc.

Many hypnotists like to count down (and some up) as they do the deepener. If you opt to use the staircase situation you can count a number on each step down. Some hypnotists use numbers in lifts and have the client imagine watching the numbers going down as the lift goes lower and lower.

The lift is a great example, as it moving beyond ground floor and into the basement is a metaphor for moving from conscious awareness to subconscious awareness.

Whatever you choose, link it to relaxing. For example, say that each number causes them to relax even more deeply, and the more relaxed they become the deeper into trance they go.

Trance deepening doesn’t have to be complicated, I know a hypnotist that always does the same basic deepener. He simply counts back from 10 to 1 very slowly and says the words, ‘Sleep now, limp and loose, limp and loose, that’s good.’ between each number.

This deepener is very simply, but it works, try it! When you deepen a trance the most important thing to focus on is your voice. If you read a perfect deepening script out to your client in a shrill nasal voice it’s only going to agitate them. You need to really slow things down. Do this progressively so that you get slower and slower as the trance deepens.

You also need to lower your tone. A great exercise to improve your tone quality is to practise moving your voice lower, talk from your nose as you touch it, then move to your mouth, then your throat. Next move your hand to your chest and feel the voice coming from there, then go down to your stomach. Rest your hand on your stomach and feel you voice begin deep inside you as you practise the inductions and deepeners.

This is your hypnotic voice, aside of the words you speak, it’s your only tool so look after it and train it well! A singer wouldn’t dream of only using their singing voice on stage, they practise… lots! And your hypnotic voice is no different so practise using it too.

During the trance induction process you tend to focus on the clients body. As you move into the deepener, you shift that focus inward and have the client focus on ideas and images that you present.

You can easily make up your own deepener using these notes as a guide. Doing this will make you a much better hypnotist. Also listen to other hypnotists and see what they do, hypnotic audio programs are a great source of inspiration. And it’s also great practise to try to pick out all of the different hypnotic language patterns they use too.

Whenever I use the staircase induction I like to finish it off by having the client imagine they are standing at the bottom of the stairs, and in front of them is a door. I tell them the door leads to a special place and as we pass through it they’ll go into a deep, deep trance.

I often use the forest walk deepener too, and with this I tell the client to imagine they have come to a clearing. In the clearing is a very special bed, and as they clamber onto it and fall asleep they can begin to dream that they are drifting into a deep, deep trance.

Using something similar to this enables you to move the client from a state of deep relaxation to deep trance. It’s similar to having the lift go down to the basement.

That’s pretty much all there is to a basic trance deepener, practise everything you’ve learned so far and see if you can link it all together smoothly without looking at your notes. Having a few basic ideas in your mind is usually enough. And of course, a few ready made suggestions at hand for when you need a little thinking time.

I hope you’ve been especially nice to your friends and family because you’re going to need some eager volunteers very soon! As with the induction try recording a few deepeners and listen back, and remember to really slooooow it riiiiiiight doooooooown. The way you speak is much much MUCH more important than the things you say!

I’ll be back tomorrow and we’ll talk about what to do with the trance. As well as how best to get them out! I hope you’re enjoying the lessons and getting lots of practise in. Until tomorrow, take care!

In this third part of free "How to hypnotize" course, we're jumping right into the induction process. This is important in hypnosis learning.

“How to Hypnotize” Course Author: Steven Hall MCOH MASC NLP

Today we’re jumping right into the induction process! You’ll be using some of the techniques you learnt yesterday so I hope you had plenty of time to practise.

There are a number of things that cause trance, the mains ones are relaxation, confusion, shock and repetition. Shock and confusion are fantastic when you move onto more dynamic induction techniques, but to get you started we’re gonna focus on relaxation.

People rarely know how to relax, so step one is to go through a relaxation process to really help them to let go. A great way to do this is to have them systematically tense and then relax each muscle group in turn.

Once your client in suitably relaxed you want to take it down a level or two, so begin to really slow things down. Talk slowly and begin to draaaaag out your words. If you’ve done a good job of establishing rapport with your client, as you slow things down they’ll shift into a much deeper state too.

Make good use of the suggestive language patterns that we looked at yesterday, as well as including a few new ones!

Linguistic bridges are fantastic ways to assist the induction. To use these simply feedback the client’s current situation and then tag on a direction that you want them to follow. It helps if you feedback a few statements first, so it will go something like this….

“You are listening to the sound of my voice as you relax and sit comfortably with your eyes closed causing you to feel even more relaxed now taking you deeper and deeeepeeeer in trance.”

To link your statements and commands use words such as, ‘and, as, while, causes and makes’ as the trance develops you’ll begin to notice signs of trance, such as:

Rapid eye movements (REMS), relaxed facial muscles, jaw hanging limp and loose, flushed cheeks, twitching movements in the limbs as tension is released, changes in breathing pattern, digestive system kicking in (you might even hear stomach rumbles!)

When you hypnotise a person you’re not casting a spell, it doesn’t matter what words you use or their precise order. You’re simply relaxing them. If you feel as though it’s going to fast, sloooow it down. Many hypnotic scripts are available but you really don’t need one, just use a nice calming reassuring tone and give the client relaxing suggestions. It helps to move around the body as you did with the tensing and relaxing exercise.

To get you started here’s a quick sample that includes all of the factors we’ve looked at so far….

“You are listening to the sound of my voice as you begin to relax a little deeper now. Your eyes are closed and perhaps you are wondering how you will go into trance. I don’t know if you will go into trance immediately, or take a little time to really enjoy this process as you begin to feel it happening right now, that’s fine. Just relax and hear my voice, as you do, I want you to focus on your feet for a moment, just breath, listen to my voice and focus on your feet relaxing, that’s good. With each breath you can imagine your feet are relaxing more and more, becoming more and more comfortable now as this feeling eases up into your lower legs, soaking around your ankles and allowing your calf muscles to relax now….doesn’t that feel better. Just enjoy this feeling as it slowly spreads up to your knees.”

Continue in this way all over the client’s body, and be sure to use all of the language patterns you’ve discovered so far.

Following Steven Hall With More Advanced “How To Hypnotize” Video Course!

That’s pretty much all there is to a basic progressive relaxation induction! Of course, you do need to deepen the trance state and we’ll be going into that in your next lesson. For now… get practising!! If you can’t find a willing volunteer, simply record your induction and listen back to it yourself. This is a great way to practise. Most people that do this are shocked at how fast they speak, when you’re on the receiving end of your induction you quickly realise how slowing everything down makes a massive difference.

A great thing to do is imagine the client doesn’t understand English and you have to relax them with your tonality and pace alone.

In this free "How to hypnotize" course lesson two, we're looking at the first stage of the hypnosis process, the pre-induction talk.

“How to Hypnotize” Course Author: Steven Hall MCOH MASC NLP

Today we’re looking at the first stage of the hypnotic process, the pre-induction talk. I know that you probably want to get on to the induction process, but believe me, this stage is much more interesting (and important) than many people give it credit!

The pre-induction talk is your chance to ‘prime’ your client. It appears to be an informal chat used to gather information, but it’s much more than that!

During this stage you’ll be using lots of embedded commands. Some of these will be used to aid the therapy, other to ensure a fast induction. You’ll also be increasing rapport with your client, as well as gathering important information that you can use to create the therapy. All of this goes on without your client realising… from their perspective, you’re just having a friendly chat!

So let’s get sneaky! First off, embedded commands.

Embedded commands are commands that you hide inside your normal conversation and are aimed at a client’s subconscious mind. They slip straight past conscious scrutiny and really help you to manipulate the situation in the direction you want it to go… and this isn’t just great for hypnotising somebody! You can use these for almost anything!

To make your command, first decide what you want a client to do, then hide this command inside a sentence. For example, ‘go into trance’ is a great command and can be hidden in the sentence, ‘When you go into trance you’ll still be able to hear my voice.’

You’ll need to highlight the command so the subconscious mind can pick it out from the rest of the sentence, but do this very subtly; a slight change in voice tonality will be more than enough. Don’t make this too obvious!

Next in the hypnotic language tool box we have presuppositions, you use these to offer a false choice to your client, eg, ‘I don’t know if you will go into trance immediately or take a few minutes to relax yourself into it slowly.’ Here you present two options, yet both are to go into trance, you don’t even consider the option to not enter trance, and neither will they.

Think of some useful commands you can give and practise hiding these in sentences you’re likely to use during the pre-hypnotic chat.

Obviously, you’ll also need to use this time to remove any misconception about trance, make sure your client understands they’ll hear you throughout, otherwise they’ll think it couldn’t have been hypnosis! Also be sure they know they won’t get stuck in trance and you’re not going to make them reveal secrets. This helps to put their mind at ease and makes for a much more agreeable client.

To increase rapport, listen out for the kind of words the client uses, and speak in the same language they do. People generally fall into three categories, some tend to use visual words a lot, such as ‘I see what you mean’ and they think in pictures, other think in sounds, and are likely to say, ‘That sounds good to me’ and some tend to think by feelings, they will say things like, ‘I can really grasp that concept’.

If your client is using visual phrases then you should too, this will dramatically increase rapport levels. And when a client likes you, they trust you… and it’s much, much easier to hypnotise them!

Practise standard phrases in each system so you can use the appropriate one when needed.

You should use this time to get to know our client a little better, be friendly and just let it flow, once you have rapport with your client, begin to slightly slow things down and move everything to a more relaxed place. Your client will instinctively follow your lead to maintain rapport with you. You can see this happening all around you everyday, watch couples chatting, if they are in rapport and one changes position, the other will soon follow.

Following Steven Hall With More Advanced “How To Hypnotize” Video Course!

Now it’s time to start practising! Go and chat to anyone and see how long it takes for you to work out which system they’re using. Then put yourself in that system too! Gain rapport with people and see if you can make them more relaxed, or excited just by changing your own state a little at a time!

And remember to practise those embedded commands! Maybe you can have some fun getting someone to make tea or buy a round of drinks! First off, decide on the command then hide it in a normal sounding sentence.

In this "How to hypnosis" course, we'll first answer the question 'What is Hypnosis?' and covering the common trance, induction misconceptions.

“How to Hypnotize” Course Author: Steven Hall MCOH MASC NLP

Welcome to your first hypnotic lesson! It’s great that you’re interested in hypnosis and I know you’ll be eager to get started… today we’re going to get all of the preparation work out of the way, so you can begin the induction process ASAP!

First off, we need to answer the question, ‘What is hypnosis?’

Hypnosis is an altered state of consciousness, there’s nothing mysterious or magical about it and everyone drifts in and out of trance many times a day without even realizing it!

If a person is in hypnosis it is possible to communicate directly with their subconscious mind. The subconscious mind doesn’t critique or reason in the same way that the conscious mind does. It just does what it’s told.

So, if you tell a person that’s fully alert that they’re a ballerina, they’ll compare this to what they already know to be true, and then dismiss it… and tell you that you’re wrong. If they’re in a trance, they just accept it, and will be more than happy to pirouette across the stage!

There are many misconceptions about trance, so let’s get those out of the way and we can press on with the more exciting side of hypnosis!

Hypnosis is not the same as sleep, when you are hypnotized you’ll be able to hear everything a hypnotist says.

It is impossible to become ’stuck’ in hypnosis. If a hypnotist sneaks away and leaves you in trance, you’ll either wake up straight away, after a few minutes, or, if you are very tired, you might fall into normal sleep and wake up once rested.

A hypnotist can’t ‘make’ you do ‘anything’. You’re in control, if you’re not happy with a suggestion you can just refuse to do it. Similarly, they can’t probe inside and discover your darkest secrets. You may have seen a TV show where a hypnotist appears to do this, but please bare in mind that the volunteers know he’ll be probing and they wouldn’t be on the show if they truly wanted the secret kept secret!

Trance isn’t exactly what it appears to be, a hypnotist doesn’t hypnotise a person; they simply act as a guide and help the person to hypnotise themselves! In fact, all hypnosis is self hypnosis! So, as you learn how to hypnotise people, all you’re really learning is how to help them hypnotise themselves. Now you know your role… I want to quickly give you an overview of the entire trance process before we end your first lesson.

The trance process has some very specific stages, and you’ll need to learn all of them if you’re going to make it as a hypnotist. First off we have the pre-hypnotic talk. This is an informal chat that you have with your client before any trance work begins. If you’re on stage, it’s everything you do and say while getting your volunteers!

Next we have the actual induction process. There are lots of ways to do this and it’s much simpler than you probably imagine. After the induction is complete you lead straight into a trance deepener. Next is the important part… and that’s what you do with the trance state, this can be some therapy, a stage routine or perhaps something more exotic, like discovering past lives. Once the trance has served its purpose you make use of a few post hypnotic suggestions then close by waking the client.
